We’re huge fans of Gerard Butler, star of the ‘Fallen’ trilogy. The terrifying third instalment, Angel Has Fallen, is the darkest yet, so to get hyped up we thought we’d look at some Gerard Butler trivia! Gerard has been on our radar for a while, but even we didn’t know some of these gems.

1. He was rumoured to be the next James Bond after Pierce Brosnan! Now be honest. Watch Angel Has Fallen and try telling us he wouldn’t have given Daniel Craig a run for his money.


2. Gerard Butler studied to be a lawyer! Not only did he go to law school, but he was the president of the law college where he studied.


3. He sang in a rock band called Speed! This helped him hit those notes in Phantom of the Opera, for sure.


4. Gerard has been in five films in which his characters name is the title of the movie! Can you guess which ones?


5. While filming Mrs. Brown, Gerard saved a boy from drowning in the river Tay, and was awarded a certificate of bravery from The Royal Humane Society.


6. He’s close friends with Bradley Cooper!


7. He revealed to Stephen Colbert on The Late Show that he’s the first person in the history of the Scottish legal system to be fired before qualifying as a lawyer.


8. He auditioned for the role of Aslan in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.


9. During production of The Phantom of the Opera, it took Gerard four hours to get fitted into his makeup and prosthetics.


10. Believe it or not, he didn’t start acting until he was 25!
