Sweet Valley High is getting a movie!

Praise be! Francine Pascal’s teen book series Sweet Valley High is finally heading to the big screen.
The Sweet Valley High movie adaptation has been in the works for a while now but it’s now looking like a sure thing with writers Kiwi Smith (Legally Blonde, 10 Things I Hate About You) and Harper Dill on board to pen the adventures of  twins Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield. The young adult book series wooed a generation of readers who devoured Pascal’s 603 ghost-written novels, published between 1983 and 2003, along with a 90s TV series.

While we wait for the bell to ring once again at Sweet Valley High, how about a movie reboot for these classics?

Creator Bill Watterson has said he’s not keen for an animated movie version.  Regardless, fans (read: WE) are desperate to see mischievous 6 year old Calvin go on a big screen adventure with his love-hate classmate Susie Derkins and sarcastic stuffed tiger.
