Cate Blanchett to star in Lucille Ball biopic

Cate Blanchett is set to play legendary comedian Lucille Ball in a new biopic.
With Amazon Studios officially acquiring the long-awaited Lucille Ball movie, the Aussie actress is their first pick to don a curly red wig, break out the red lippy and play the star of the classic TV sitcom, I Love Lucy. With Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, The Social Network) taking on script writing duties, the film will focus on Lucille’s 20-year marriage to Desi Arnaz, her co-star on I Love Lucy.

Cate is the ultimate shapeshifter on screen, and will no doubt morph into a wisecracking Lucy with ease. Here’s a quick look back at our 5 favourite faces of Cate:
