The long martini break is over. James Bond 25 officially has a release date. Fans of the suave spy will be happy to hear that Bond is heading back to cinemas in November 2019 for more international espionage and lady slaying.
The sequel to Spectre has been rumoured for months, and now that it’s been confirmed, the big question is – who will play Bond… James Bond?
Daniel Craig is still the front runner to reprise his role for the fifth time, though there is still chat around Craig’s potential replacements. Who’s your money (penny - we couldn’t resist) on?
Idris Elba

The 44-year-old Londoner has been tipped as the next 007 for years – a hacked Sony email outlined the Luther and The Wire star as Craig’s most likely successor and even director Steven Spielberg declared that Elba would be his "first choice". With critics saying the actor might be “too street” to play the spy, and even Elba hinting that he’s too old, others argue he’s the perfect choice to shake up the franchise.
Tom Hardy

The star of Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant and Dunkirk, Hardy has recently risen to become the current bookies favourite to play the super spy, especially after he was involved in a dramatic real-life Bond moment when he chased a motorbike thief through the streets of London and made a citizen’s arrest. In interviews, the 39-year-old has refused to speak about the role for fear of jinxing it.
James Norton

Norton was unforgettable in the British crime series Happy Valley as deranged killer, Tommy Lee Royce and has also been rumoured to be on the shortlist for Bond. “It's lovely and very bizarre and flattering to be included in that conversation,” says the 31-year-old.
Tom Hiddleston

Best known for his role as Loki in Thor, Hiddleston has had his name attached to the Bond role. But even the modest 36-year-old admits he’s a long shot. “I don’t think that announcement is coming, but I am very gratified to hear the enthusiasm. Your guess is as good as mine, to be honest.”
Henry Cavill

The Superman star has thrown his cape into the ring, saying he’d happily hang up his tights for a suit and tie. “If there were any windows and they wanted me to do that kind of role, then it would be great – I’d love to do it,” Cavill told talk show host Graham Norton.
